TERMOVENT ACADEMY – VISIT OF STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, UNIVERSITY OF BELGRADE

Its always a pleasure to share the knowledge and experience of our employees with students who are on the verge of a career. For them, practical learnings are extremely important. With this on our mind, in the organization of the Termovent Academy, on December 22. 2021, we organized a gathering with students of the final year of master studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade.

We have successfully continued our long-term cooperation with Dr. Milan Ristanović, full professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Department of Automatic Control, through visit of students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Automatic Control and Department of Thermotechnics.

Within the agenda, we had 4 units: Introduction to the company Termovent and Termovent Academy, presentation of HVAC and BMS / EMS system in training center of Termovent Academy and finally the practical part through questions and discussion. We are proud to point out that lecturers were our colleagues: Nemanja Spasojević, project manager, Uros Birčanin, head of the automation department, as well as Nikola Brenjo, automation engineer. They are graduates of the department of students who visited us are from.

The aim of the visit was to provide students with the opportunity to see in real conditions the functioning of HVAC and BMS / EMS systems, with application for Clean Room needs in the pharmaceutical industry. Final goal was to provide knowledge that will further benefit them.

Within the HVAC system, the way of achieving and maintaining air parameters in a Clean Room (temperature, relative humidity, pressure cascade, number of particles) was presented. Also, students got more close explanation of the concepts and methods of air filtration, ductwork with elements of regulation as well as elements of the periphery. Special attention in the presentation of the HVAC system was on the air handling unit with accompanying sensors. All the above is located within our training center

For the students of the Department of Automatic Control, the presentation of the BMS / EMS system through the HMI application on the Touch panel was especially interesting. They had a presentation of the object-oriented principle of PLC program development and its connection with objects on the Touch Panel, as well as the principle of operation and control algorithms of the HVAC system itself. In addition to the above, they had the opportunity to see the automation cabinet and the energy cabinet in the space of the Termovent Academy.

“It is possible to see everything from mechanical to electronic installations as well as entire automation in one place, just as it should be.”

Dr. Milan Ristanović, full professor

Finally, students were able to see the work of HVAC system and its functionalities through the HMI panel.

Also, within the informal gathering, students were got a presentation of a Clean Room, with an emphasis on architecture, defined according to the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry as well as project solutions that we have within our training center.

At the end of the visit, we collected the impressions of students and professors about the entire event.

“The whole concept of the space in where training center is located, but I would say Academy for students and engineers is fantastic for several reasons. First of all, technologically, the facility is of exceptional quality, no compromises have been made in terms of technology, automation and thermotechnics, and it is possible to see everything from mechanical to electronic installations as well as entire automation in one place, just as it should be. The facilities are “state of the art”.”

“Through lectures, exercises and projects at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, these things are learned. However, when students come to this space and when their older colleagues who work and do business today tell them the same and emphasize the things that were important to them during their studies, as well as what they learned afterwards, it is a great incentive. It gives students hope and motivates them to use their time in their studies and improve their knowledge.”

Dr. Milan Ristanović, full professor

Students evaluated the organization of the gathering in the following way.

“A warm approach to younger colleagues, a relaxed atmosphere, a clear and precise explanation of terms that are unclear. All in all, I am full of praises, most of us wished to meet you again.”

“The lecture was very interesting and useful. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I am glad that I had the opportunity to see practical things that I did not have the opportunity to see during my studies. Also, the conversation with the lecturers after the presentation pointed out to me some things that I should pay attention to when I start designing. Thanks again for the hospitality, everything was really great.”

We want to use this opportunity to thank the professor and students for their visit to us. It was a pleasure to have a space with our future colleagues. Also, our desire is for these gatherings to grow into a regular practice for every next generation of students.
