TERMOVENT AIR HANDLING UNITS AT THE BIGGEST CHOCOLATE FACTORY IN BALKANS – BARRY CALLEBAUT

Through its work and activities, Termovent is always ready to cooperate with the highest quality partners, both in Serbia, Europe, and around the world. It’s our pleasure to be able to include companies such as Cooper Tires, Hemofarm, Hotel Hilton , and many others as references in the field of Air Treatment Engineering.

It is a great honor to include in our references one of the leading chocolate manufacturers in the world – company Barry Callebaut, who recently opened a factory in Novi Sad. For this occasion, we want to congratulate Barry Callebaut on their great achievement.

The chocolate factory covers 12.000m² and will be the largest chocolate factory in the Balkans. Zurich – based Barry Callebaut is a cocoa processor and chocolate maker. The factory in Novi Sad has the capacity to produce 50.000 tons of chocolate per year.

Our Air Treatment Engineering division participated in this project by delivering Air Handling Units.

Our colleague, Radoslav Zdravković, manager of Air Treatment Engineering sales unit, told us something more about Termovent’s realization of this project.

I am happy that, in addition to numerous big projects in Serbia and the region, we also participated in this unique project.

Within the project’s realization, we designed, delivered, and put into operation 13 air handling units, with control cabinets and complete automation for control and operation of air handling units.

From the 13 air handling units delivered, 6 are Hygienic Pro and 7 are Standard Pro. They process a total of 389.220m³/h of air.

The specificity is that one of the Hygienic Pro air handling units has an air flow of 73.000 m³/h. Every AHU is equipped with EC fans and integrated frequency regulators. As a solution for higher energy efficiency, the so-called “fan wall” is implemented on every air handling unit. This means that instead of one fan of high weight and power, a larger number of smaller fans are installed. Every AHU we delivered had to be implemented on the inside of the factory. Termovent provided complete automation for the monitoring and regulating of temperature, humidity, flow rate, duct and room pressure in the factory. The system consists of electrical cabinets and the corresponding elements of automation (fans, sensors, thermostats, heat exchangers, pumps, dampers and valves actuators…) for 13 air handling units with SCADA application.

The complete system is based on Siemens Climatix controllers which are programmed to match customers’ needs and designed conditions – extract/supply flow rate control, variable flow function, extract/supply duct pressure control, constant air volume/cariabile air volume control, extract (Room) temperature/supply temperature control, outside temperature compensation function and room humidity control. SCADA application contains screens on which the user can monitor actual process values, set the desired parameters, control unit operation and individual actuators, and get information about existing and historical alarm situations which are grouped in different categories depending on the severity of the problem. The values of all important parameters are recorded in the database, and it is possible to view them using trend objects. Access to certain fields for setting parameters that are used by authorized persons is protected by an administrator password

It’s very important for us to carry out each project in the best possible way and I am glad that the project in the Barry Callebaut chocolate factory showed that.

The partner in this project was our long-term associate, Energogroup. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them on the great realization and thank them for the cooperation and communication which was at the maximum level, at every moment of the realization of this project. We are looking forward to continuing our cooperation in the future.
